BE RAPTURE-READY, NOT LEFT BEHIND

A Gospel Tract for Today’s End Times

(including Apologetics)

Bible prophecy experts say we are on the “end times fast track” and the next event on the prophetic calendar is the Rapture—which could happen at any time! Have you ever tried to explain the pre-trib Rapture to someone succinctly so they can be ready for it and not left behind? Why not forward this blog post (or the free printed tract pictured here) to present the Gospel to unbelievers, as well as to inspire believers to witness and live for Christ as they look for “the blessed hope of His glorious appearing” (Tit. 2:13).

THE RAPTURE:

  • A split-second event that could happen soon
  • A glorious promise for millions of people
  • The Lord of heaven is coming for His Church
  • Believers will be spared from the Tribulation

“BUT WHY DOES IT MATTER?”

Todd rushed into the break room, eager to continue his conversation with a coworker. Trish arrived and poured her coffee, then pulled up a chair. “So Todd, you started telling me about some kind of rapture that’s predicted in the Bible. But why does it matter?”

“Oh yes! People need to be rapture-ready because this important event could happen at any time. Everyone who is a believer in Jesus Christ before the Rapture will be translated to heaven without dying. And they will miss the Tribulation!” Raising her eyebrows, Trish posed a few more questions….

“SO, WHAT IS THE RAPTURE?”

The Rapture is that glorious moment when Jesus Christ will come, without warning, and take away His Church (all believers) from this earth.1 Millions of them, young and old, will suddenly be raptured or “caught up” to join Jesus in heaven. Scripture says:

“The Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God.” 2

In a mere moment or twinkle of an eye, all genuine believers will receive glorified, heavenly bodies3 and be:

“caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then [they] will be with the Lord forever.”4

This event will fulfill the great promise Jesus made to His disciples on the night before His betrayal, saying:

“When everything is ready [in heaven], I will come and get you, so that you will always be with me where I am.”5

All true Christians will be raptured—those living and those who’ve already died. Only God the Father knows exactly when the Rapture will occur.6 Yet end-times Bible prophecies are rapidly unfolding,7 and according to the prophetic timetable, the Rapture could even be today!

“WHAT IS THE TRIBULATION?

A seven-year period of Tribulation follows the Rapture. It is a time of increasing human suffering on earth8—when righteous God judges a sinful, Christ-rejecting world and brings Israel back to her Messiah.9 Believers will already be enjoying heaven because they trusted in Jesus as their Savior, who paid for their sins in full on the cross.

God did not appoint [believers] to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.”10

  • Relative peace the first half. The Tribulation will begin when the Antichrist—a Satan-possessed man who masquerades as the Messiah—enters a 7-year peace treaty with Israel.11 In the first 3-1/2 years, “the beginning of birth pains,” there will be false peace, and most likely the “seal judgments” Jesus warned about (e.g., wars, famine, death, plagues, earthquakes).
  • Great Tribulation the last half. At the midpoint of the seven years, the Antichrist will break the treaty with Israel, declare he is God in the rebuilt temple, and set up an image that causes desolation.13 God’s wrath then intensifies.14 (Ultimately, Jesus returns to earth as the Conquering King of glory, all humanity is judged, and God creates a new heaven and earth.)15

“CAN WE TRUST THE BIBLE?”

God revealed His truth about the Rapture in three main Bible passages (see footnote 16). The Bible contains 66 books, written over 1,500 years, by 40 authors, on three continents, yet with total unity. It aligns with history and archaeology. And in the 1st century AD, Jesus fulfilled 300 Messianic prophecies from the Old Testament. (For more evidence on the Bible’s reliability, see footnote 17.)

“RAPTURE-READY MEANS WHAT?”

Out of deep divine love, Jesus warned us to “watch and be ready” for the Rapture.18 Unbelievers can prepare to meet the Lord by receiving Jesus Christ and His free gift of salvation. And believers can live to please the Lord, looking forward to the “blessed hope” of His appearance.19

“Keep alert at all times. And pray that you might be strong enough [able] to escape these coming horrors and stand before the [divine] Son of Man.” 20

THE GOSPEL OF GRACE

The holy Son of God conquered sin and death by shedding His blood on a Roman cross 2,000 years ago for us. Now our destination can be heaven, not hell. On the third day after Jesus’ death and burial, He was resurrected from the dead.21 And our Savior lives today!22 God loved the world so much that:

“He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”23

Are you ready to surrender your heart to Jesus and become a true believer? If so, you can enjoy a relationship with Jesus now . . . and share the glories of heaven with Him forever . . . and be rapture-ready!
