Are you a Jesus follower who has a passion for lost souls and would like to reach out to unbelievers in today’s battle of ideas? Or are you a searcher or skeptic who’d like to pursue truth in today’s world of spiritual potpourri and postmodern confusion? Either way, this blog site is for you!
In creative and user-friendly ways, each blog post will inspire/ equip you with nuggets of apologetics. For example, some are in the form of actual God-conversations, or parables and illustrations, or hypothetical letters to a friend. While others address evergreen issues in a conversational tone.
Christian Apologetics is the branch of evangelism that deals with defending the Christian faith so that beloved unbelievers will consider the gospel and live. The evidence for the truth of biblical Christianity is like a mountain that towers over every religious system. There is no comparison. How I wish I had known spiritual truth many years ago, but back then I was a “spiritual POW” in shackles!
All people start out as “spiritual POWs” held captive in the kingdom of darkness (see Eph. 2:1–9). Yet a victory occurs whenever a captive comes to the cross and embraces the Savior. At that moment, he or she is freed from shackles and translated into God’s marvelous kingdom of light, forever (1 Peter 2:9).
Because Jesus came to set the captives free (Luke 4:18), these blogs will inspire Christians, including apologists, to not only pray for the souls God brings into our path and speak the truth in love, but also to be ready to share the gospel. For it is powerful and life-giving.
The Gospel of Grace is the good news that Jesus Christ came to provide forgiveness of sins and salvation for all who will believe (see John 3:16; Rom. 10:9). The Savior of the world offers everyone the free gift of eternal life, made possible by His death on the cross and resurrection from the dead (1 Cor. 15:1, 3–4). And that mega-gift is only a prayer away!
It can be mind-boggling to realize that the everlasting gospel also appears in the Old Testament. Check this out! Our Creator-God rolled back the curtain of time and allowed people to read His profound prophecies. Referring to the cross, God’s prophet Isaiah (in Isaiah 53:5–6) wrote these words seven centuries before the coming of Jesus Christ, the Messiah:
He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; and the LORD [God the Father] has laid on Him [God the Son] the iniquity of us all.
When believers promote the gospel, God’s sacrificial love penetrates human hearts.
When unbelievers consider the gospel, “spiritual POWs” can be set free forevermore.
To God be the glory!
