CELEBRATE A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE WITH ME!

(A Conversational Gospel Presentation, Especially for Children)

A CHRISTMAS MIRACLE

Lots of exciting things happen during Christmas. But do you want to know the greatest Christmas miracle ever?

Well, first let me tell you a story.

There once was a farmer who loved birds. One day, a heavy snowstorm hit. He and his family took cover inside their house. But when the farmer looked out the window, he saw a bird sitting in a tree, getting thrashed by the strong winds.

Knowing the poor bird couldn’t survive much longer, the man ran out to his barn, opened the door, and hollered to the bird to fly inside the barn.

But the bird couldn’t understand the farmer’s words. So it stayed in the tree, getting battered, even though the farmer had a safe place for it.

The farmer wished he could communicate his life-saving message to the little bird. But the only way to do that would be if he became a bird himself and spoke in bird language.

GOD BECAME A MAN TO SPEAK TO US

In much the same way as that farmer with the bird, God loves people. He had a life-saving message to give us, but we couldn’t understand Him. So God performed a great miracle. He became a man so He could speak to us in our language.

This man was named Jesus. He was born in a little village called Bethlehem, inside a stable for animals. His earthly parents were Mary and Joseph.

Jesus Christ is the only God-man (both God and man) who ever lived. One of His titles is Immanuel, which means “God with us” (Matt. 1:23).*

GOD’s LIFE-GIVING MESSAGE

Jesus communicated God’s important message to the world. He warned us that all people are in serious trouble because we all sin from time to time, by doing wrong things or bad things that hurt God’s heart.

But the good news is, Jesus loves us deeply. And He came to earth to be the Savior of the whole world.

JESUS CAME TO SAVE US

Since Jesus is the only sinless person who ever lived, He alone could save us from our sins so we could be forgiven. But to do that, He had to die a horrible death. He was crucified on a cross a long time ago in 33 AD.

On the third day after Jesus’s death, however, He came alive again. He was resurrected! And He taught people about God’s kingdom for forty days, and then went up into heaven.

Now all of us have a choice to make. If we ask Jesus to forgive us for our sins and be our Savior, we can have a loving relationship with God by talking to Him through our prayers. We will also receive the most amazing gift of all—life forever in heaven (John 3:16).

That’s the Christmas miracle I’m celebrating. I personally know God, through Jesus, and I will get to live with Him forever!

HOW WE KNOW THE TRUTH ABOUT GOD

We can trust that the Bible came from the living God and that it tells us His loving plan for people. There is a mountain of evidence for the truth of Christianity. Did you know that…

JESUS FULFILLED HUNDREDS
OF PROPHECIES

In ancient times, God inspired holy men to write His words of truth to humanity. Those men faithfully wrote the Old Testament Scriptures, which contained 300 predictions about a coming Savior. He would be known as the “Messiah.”

Centuries later, Jesus was born. Amazingly, He fulfilled all 300 prophecies about the Messiah’s birth, life, death, and resurrection. Here are just a few examples:

            • 700 years before Jesus came, a prophet of God named Micah wrote that the Savior would be born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2). And Jesus was born there! (See Matt. 2:1-6 in the New Testament.)
            • 500 years before Jesus came, a prophet named Zechariah wrote that the King having salvation would ride into Jerusalem on the colt of a donkey (Zech. 9:9). And Jesus did that!  (See Luke 19:35–38 in the New Testament.)
            • 700 years before Jesus came, a prophet named Isaiah described how the Savior would suffer in payment for our sins (Isa. 53:4-7). And Jesus did that!  (See John 19:1 to 20:30 in the New Testament.)

That means Jesus Christ is the Messiah!

CHRISTMAS GIFT-GIVING

At Christmastime, people give each other presents. But the best gift in the whole world is Jesus, who was born on Christmas day. Would you like to receive that gift too? If so, just say this prayer from your heart:

A PRAYER TO RECEIVE JESUS AS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOR

Dear God, thank You for loving me so much. I believe Jesus died for my sins and rose from the dead to give me life. I want to be a child of God and live in Your kingdom, now and forever. So Jesus, please be my Lord and Savior and forgive my sins. Thank You. Amen.

IF YOU PRAYED THAT PRAYER…

You can celebrate the greatest Christmas miracle ever!
