THE KING IS COMING SOON…IN THE CLOUDS!
A Thrilling Testimony of Prophetic Cloud Visions
Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up
together with them [the dead in Christ] in the
clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we will
always be with the Lord. (1 Thess. 4:17)
As we read today’s newspaper headlines, we see that the Bible’s end-times prophecies are being fulfilled before our very eyes. Since the next event on the prophetic timeline is the Rapture—when Jesus will return in the clouds to call up all His true believers—I am thrilled to post this blog[1] about a series of vivid visions the Lord showed me recently, as well as their interpretation.
First, a few words about visions and the biblical basis for them. Throughout Scripture, we read about the Lord revealing literal visions to some of His people. Examples in the Old Testament include Daniel, Isaiah, and Elisha. Examples in the New Testament are Peter, John, and Paul. And when Peter preached on the day of Pentecost, he pointed out God’s promised blessing to come “in the last days.” He would pour out His Holy Spirit on people, and some would see visions (Acts 2:17).
Biblical vsions are often prophetic, conveying what will happen in the future. They can also be used to teach a spiritual truth, strengthen a believer during a trial, provide encouragement, confirm a promise, etc.[2] Not every believer will have a vision from the Lord, yet they will all receive at least one spiritual gift from the Holy Spirit for the work of ministry to build up the church.[3] In order for visions to be authentic, they must line up with the Bible (God’s Word) and glorify the biblical Jesus—which likewise are tests of authenticity for the gift of prophecy (1 Cor. 12:10).[4]
The first literal vision I saw happened years ago, soon after the Lord restored my ten-year marriage to Tom, bringing beauty out of ashes for us. Late one night, I saw in my mind’s eye a moving picture of the two of us smiling at each other, adorned in full wedding attire. I was amazed. My heart thumped. After the vision faded away, I wondered what it could mean. I had been praying for a ministry in which I could serve God. Did this vision mean that Tom and I were going to have a marriage ministry? As it turned out, we did. Over the next five years, the two of us shared our testimony at Enjoying Marriage weekend retreats.
After that first vision, I periodically received visions from the Holy Spirit. Those brief revelations were mostly calls to intercede in prayer for someone or to pray about some situation. Other times they were prophetic signs to encourage people I prayed for or myself. I give God glory for those blessings!
A NEW DEVELOPMENT
Last summer I saw, for the first time, a series of visions—eighteen progressive “cloud and sun” visions. I recorded them for weeks in my day planner. I prayed about them and eventually realized that they corresponded to the gospel tracts writing ministry the Lord gave me, especially the four most recent ones pertaining to end times. I concluded that the Holy Spirit was encouraging me to boldly announce that Jesus is coming in the clouds very soon in the Rapture (1 Thess. 4:16–17).
Here are some digital pictures I found online that somewhat capture what I saw. These remarkable visions started out with fleecy white clouds surrounding a nearly full sun. Over time, the clouds got darker and the sun smaller—as if darkening clouds were enveloping the sunlight.
When I asked the Holy Spirit for the interpretation, He revealed a theme: that since the Lord is coming soon to gather up all His people, and the world is becoming darker, little time remains for unbelievers to respond to the light of the gospel. The window of opportunity is closing for them to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior and accept His free gift of salvation. (And Bible prophecy experts say we are now “one minute to midnight” on the Bible’s prophetic timeline.)
This truth was reinforced to me a few weeks ago when I saw a vision of Jesus Himself in the clouds with outstretched arms! I felt honored and humbled to see this amazing picture, if only for a second.
Will Jesus return this year? Only God the Father knows when (Matt. 24:36). Yet we do know that His return is imminent and that the Rapture will happen instantaneously. True believers will then be with the Lord always. How glorious that will be! Unfortunately, the seven-year Tribulation will begin on the earth (possibly immediately) after the Rapture. It will be a time of horrific hardships for unbelievers, since they will be left behind. That is why it is so important for believers to share the gospel now!
ANOTHER DEVELOPMENT
Last night, after a time of prayer and worship, I was surprised to see a collection of visions. It included, among other things, the Holy Spirit as a dove, a blimp in the sky, and newspaper clippings. The running theme was various ways believers can engage in spreading the gospel. Here is the gist of it:
Spread the Good News everywhere you can. Shout it from the rooftops! Go tell it on the mountain that the Lord wants people to be saved! You could write a newspaper or magazine article or a song. Or send letters to relatives and friends, enclosing a gospel tract. Wear T-shirts or display bumper stickers. Speak to your neighbors and coworkers. Be sure to ask the Holy Spirit to empower you to do so and to provide opportunities. For there is a battle raging right now for the destiny of people’s souls—and forever is a long time!
Consistent with that vital mission, the four end-times gospel tracts I wrote are currently available for free. You can read them or order them by visiting www.TrueWayTracts.com. On the home page, click on “K: End-Times tracts.” Over the last several years, God inspired me to write an assortment of other evangelistic and apologetics materials as well, and they are also posted on this website.
When I think about God’s glorious gospel of grace, I’m reminded of lyrics to a powerful gospel song titled “My Tribute,” which the church has sung for decades. Here is the second chorus:
With His blood He has saved me
With His power He has raised me;
To God be the glory
For the things He has done [5]
Now I am praying for the Lord’s enabling grace to help believers Wake Up, Look Up, Rise Up, Armor Up, and Speak Up! The Rapture is thrilling news for believers, since they will be joined with their loving Savior forever because of His finished work on the cross. Yet unfortunately, it is bad news for unbelievers since they have rejected the Savior and will experience judgments coming in the Tribulation. And without Jesus as their Savior, they are destined to end up in the place created for the devil and his angels (Matt. 25:41).
So let’s announce—far and wide—that Jesus Christ loves everyone, and He alone offers everyone the free gift of eternal salvation (John 3:16; 1 Cor. 15:3–4). Does anyone have a shofar[6] I can borrow to make such an important announcement?
The End
An update on 7-18-24: I continue to receive cloud visions from the Lord, yet the skies are gray and there is no sun. Also, our TWT minisry now offers eight (teen and adult) End-Times gospel tracts, endorsed by pastor/author Barry Stagner and apologist/author Don Stewart (available at http://www.TrueWayTracts.com in Category K on the home page). To God be the glory!
